What you should know
Wire fraud is when scammers impersonate your title company, agent, or lender via email to redirect your closing funds to a fraudulent account. They often monitor your email for weeks before striking with what looks like a legitimate request. Always call your title company at a trusted phone number (NOT the number in the email) to verbally verify wire instructions before sending any money. Your title company will NOT change wire instructions during the transaction.
